Biography

Ben Demonte is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Consulting team at Cybereason, based in the Philadelphia area. Ben has over 3 decades of experience in the cybersecurity industry, with a focus on digital forensics and incident response investigations. 

Prior to joining Cybereason, Ben was the COO of the Cyber and Data Resilience team at Kroll, a financial and risk advisory firm. In this role, Ben oversaw all delivery functions of the practice including offensive security, advisory solutions, Threat Intelligence, Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Incident Response, eDiscovery and Breach Notification. He was responsible for overseeing client service operations and helped to grow the business from 17 employees to over 650 located in 18 countries. During his career at Kroll, Ben held several other positions within the Cyber and Data Resilience team, including North America head for Digital Forensics and Incident Response, where he led teams of incident response investigators through some of the most complex incident response investigations in the world. In this role, he collaborated closely with law firms, cyber insurance carriers and brokers to support clients of all sizes. 

Before this, Ben served in the FBI for 21 years where he held various roles including assistant director at the New Jersey Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory, senior digital forensic examiner, and information technology specialist. In these roles, Ben’s responsibilities ranged from performing comprehensive forensic examinations of digital evidence, to the intake and assignment of 450+ service quests annually, and providing technical expertise on various cyber investigations ranging from criminal to national security and counterintelligence. Ben’s experience in the FBI provided him the foundation to build and lead large scale incident response teams, handling cyber events ranging all complexities. 

Ben received his Bachelors of Science in Information Management from the University of Maryland, University College, and his Master of Science in Information Systems Management from Holy Family University. Ben was recognized as an Honoree in the 2024 Marquis Who’s Who for his expertise in cybersecurity.
