Cybereason’s Lodrina Cherne to Lead Digital Forensics Lab at National Cyber Crime Conference

Cybereason, creators of the leading Cyber Defense Platform, today announced that Lodrina Cherne, Security Analyst, will be leading a Lab during the National Cyber Crime Conference in Norwood, MA on April 30. Cherne will help attendees learn to better profile adversaries involved in a cyber attack and help them answer one of the most important questions in digital forensic examinations “What did a user do on this computer?”

What: Hands-On Lab: Introduction to Prefetch and Application Execution

Abstract: Being able to profile a user and what applications they run can help your investigation zero in on crucial evidence. Attendees will learn how to identify what applications were run on Windows, including applications that may no longer be installed or were executed from the command line by examining Windows Prefetch files. Attendees will perform hands on parsing of these files, learn how to identify what applications were run in Windows, how many times they were executed, and more.

About Lodrina Cherne
Cherne is an active voice and leader in the security community, a Cybereason Security Analyst and an instructor for SANS FOR500: Windows Forensic Analysis. Prior to joining Cybereason, Cherne worked as a computer forensics examiner for Arsenal Consulting, where she focused on preservation and analysis of electronic evidence, including host-based analysis of Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS systems in matters concerning intellectual property theft, employment disputes and evidence tampering.

Lodrina has been working in cybersecurity for nearly 15 years, has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Boston University and holds the GCFE, GCFA, and GASF certifications. She is a member of the GIAC Advisory Board, contributes to the Forensics Wiki, and is a two-time Lethal Forensicator Coin Holder.
