Nov 16, 2016

Cybereason, developers of the world’s only military-grade, real-time detection and response platform, today announced that is has joined the Coalition for Cybersecurity Policy & Law. By joining the Coalition, Cybereason will take an active role in working with other public and private organizations to make cybersecurity policies more effective, ensuring a safer internet and making cybersecurity more robust for everyone.

“On behalf of all of the Coalition’s members, I am excited to welcome Cybereason to the Coalition because they will offer valuable insights on the real-world threats that we face as a nation and help to bridge the gap with policymakers on how to react and respond to sophisticated attacks that threaten critical infrastructure,” said Ari Schwartz, coordinator of the coalition and managing director of cybersecurity services, Venable LLP. Schwartz is the former special assistant to President Obama and the senior director for cybersecurity at The White House.

The Cybereason announcement comes in the midst of Coalition for Cybersecurity Policy & Law's one-day symposium titled ‘Cybersecurity Under the Next President: A Symposium with Cybersecurity Industry Leaders.’ In the symposium, held on Tuesday, cybersecurity leaders and private and public sector organizations came together to discuss what President-elect Trump and his administration will ‎do to make progress on important information security issues. What impact will the change have on the way the U.S. Government shares vulnerability information; risk management policy for companies and government agencies; how the government shares threat information with companies; or how our privacy is protected?

Coalition for Cybersecurity Policy & Law members include: Arbor Networks, AT&T, Cisco, Intel, Microsoft, Mimecast, Oracle, Palo Alto Networks, Rapid7 and Symantec.

“Cybereason and other leading technology companies can play an important role working with both private and public sector organizations to discuss and work collaboratively on policies and strategies that will minimize risk and keep critical infrastructure safe and secure. What is most important to Cybereason is working in a fashion where real change takes place and all companies have an opportunity to improve cybersecurity around the world,” said Sam Curry, chief product officer, Cybereason.

Cybereason’s success is fueled by customer and industry response to its military-grade real time threat hunting solution, the Cybereason Detection and Response Platform. The Cybereason platform automatically detects attacker activities to better understand their actions and stop them from causing damage. It was built by a team that spent decades immersed in nation-state cyber operations, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of hackers’ methodologies and mindsets. Today, Cybereason’s platform and services are used by the security operation centers and incident response teams of the world’s most targeted Fortune 500 companies.

The company has received many awards and accolades since its founding. Most recently, Cybereason topped a Gartner list of endpoint detection and response vendors. Juniper Research named Cybereason one of the Top Three Disruptive Innovators to watch in 2016.
