Cybereason Announces SecureMA

Sep 13, 2017

Cybereason announced today at the Massachusetts Cyber Forum in Cambridge launched SecureMA, a statewide expansion of its SecureBoston initiative, designed to bring small businesses and nonprofits together to raise awareness and share best practices to address cybersecurity threats they face on a daily basis.

“Massachusetts is a national leader in innovation and cybersecurity thanks to our talented workforce, exceptional schools and quality companies,” said Governor Charlie Baker. “We applaud Cybereason for its leadership and willingness to support an expanded group of smaller companies and groups under this program, and we look forward to working with Commissioner Davis on this important topic.”

Ed Davis, former Boston Police Commissioner and current Cybereason Advisory Board Member, will serve at the Honorary Chair of SecureMA. The expanded program, SecureMA, will convene IT professionals from small organizations across the Commonwealth and empower them with free information, resources and tools to defend against cyber threats.

SecureBoston was launched in April 2017, with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of Boston. Since then, SecureMA has sought to expand its scope by increasing cybersecurity preparedness and awareness among local organizations and convening the professionals who face these issues on a daily basis.

“We are excited to expand SecureMA to build a robust coalition of organizations that will raise awareness of cyber threats and collaborate to develop solutions and share information,” said Cybereason CEO Lior Div. “We must work together as a community in order to combat this growing problem, and we are eager to provide that platform.”
SecureMA coalition members will have access to:

Quarterly situational awareness briefings and intelligence sharing by Cybereason experts on ongoing threats, new developments, and other cybersecurity issues. Cybereason will hold its first SecureMA intelligence briefing for nonprofits and small businesses on Wednesday, October 25th.

Cybereason’s Information Technology Best Practices Guide for nonprofits and small businesses.

A community of IT professionals and Cybereason experts who can provide responses and feedback to security concerns.

“Cyber attacks are among the most challenging and concerning security threats that we face today,” said Davis. “I am looking forward to working with the SecureMA coalition members to explore how we can better strengthen our community organizations and small businesses by protecting them from these attacks and deterring potential criminals.
