Top CIA Executive Joins Cybereason Advisory Board

Written by Cyber Admin | September 21, 2017

Cybereason today announced the addition of Robert Bigman, the Central Intelligence Agency’s (CIA) former CISO, to its Advisory Board. Bigman brings 30 years of industry experience to the existing group of diverse cybersecurity leaders and is currently the CEO of 2BSecure, a provider of cybersecurity consulting services to government and private sector CISOs.

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of Robert Bigman to our Advisory Board,” said Lior Div, co-founder and CEO, Cybereason. “With the gravity of cyber threats facing organizations and businesses of all sizes today, and the severity of risks jeopardizing our national security, there’s no one more qualified than Robert to help advise and guide the strategic direction of our technology and innovation. He brings a unique point of view that the average cyber expert can’t offer and joins some of the cybersecurity industry’s most well-known leaders on our Advisory Board.”

Recognized as a pioneer in the field of classified information protection and as an information security trailblazer, Bigman participated in developing security measures for U.S. Government computers well before the commercial industry found the Internet. During his time with the CIA, he developed creative solutions to allow the CIA to use the Internet to further its mission without exposure. As the Agency CISO for fifteen years, Bigman managed a large organization of technical and program officers responsible for the protection of all Agency information. As the CISO, his responsibilities included cryptography, information security policy, processes, standards and requirements, testing and network defense/response.

He has contributed to almost every Intelligence Community information security policy/technical standard and has provided numerous briefings to the National Security Council, Congress and presidential commissions. In recognition of his expertise and contributions, Bigman has received numerous CIA and Director of National Intelligence Awards.

“It is a critical time for our nation’s cybersecurity,” said Bigman. “As global cybercrime and cyber terrorism grows by the day, we have to find new ways to reverse the adversary’s advantage and stay at the forefront of innovation. It is exciting and encouraging to see Cybereason on the frontlines of this battle, and I am eager to join a board committed to furthering our nation’s security.”
