SecureMA Coalition Briefing Featured FBI Boston

Written by Cyber Admin | May 1, 2018

Cybereason hosted its Spring SecureMA Coalition Intelligence Briefing on April 25 at its world headquarters in the John Hancock Building. Harold H. Shaw, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Boston was the keynote speaker and helped garner a standing-room-only crowd.

The focus of the Intelligence Briefing was on the importance of the public/private sector relationship and how that partnership is critical in information gathering and sharing as it relates to cyber attacks. Special Agent Shaw discussed the role the FBI plays investigating cybercrime and deemed it the “counterterrorism of the future.” Cybereason’s Ross Rustici, Senior Director for Intelligence Services, discussed the impact of recent ransomware attacks on the City of Atlanta and Baltimore and what small businesses, local and regional municipal centers and law enforcement agencies can do to reduce the risk of being victimized by ransomware.

“When an intrusion affects your critical infrastructure, and there’s a potential for impact to national security, economic security or public health and safety, or when an attack results in a significant loss of data, call us! Together, we can work to ensure we’re better prepared not just to face current threats, but the threats that will come at us down the road,” said Shaw.
