Cybereason’s CEO Congressman to Open ‘State of the Net 2017’ Conference

Written by Cyber Admin | January 20, 2017

Lior Div, co-founder and CEO of Cybereason, will join U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte, Chairman, House Judiciary Committee, in a keynote Q&A at the State of the Net Conference, Monday, January 23, 9:00 a.m. at the Newseum, 555 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, DC.

Div and Chairman Goodlatte will discuss 2017 cyber threats, ransomware and the public sector’s role in working with private organizations to protect critical assets. Their discussion will be timely considering that Americans are concerned about whether cyber criminals are gaining the upper hand. Only 1 in 20 Americans said that existing cyber security laws are enough to protect citizens and businesses and 54 percent advocated for stronger cyber laws, according to a new survey from Vrge Analytics, conducted January 18-19.

Lior Div is the co-founder and CEO of Cybereason, one of the fastest growing cybersecurity companies. Div and his co-founders built from scratch a threat-hunting platform that protects many of the world’s largest companies from today’s sophisticated cyber threats. Prior to Cybereason, Div served as a cyber commander in the Israeli Defense Forces Unit 8200. He carried out some of the largest cyber offensive and defensive campaigns in history against nations and terror groups. For his achievements, he received the Medal of Honor, the highest honor bestowed upon Unit 8200 members.

Congressman Bob Goodlatte proudly represents the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia in the US House of Representatives. He is Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee and he also serves as a senior member of the House Agriculture Committee. During his time in Congress, Goodlatte has also made a name for himself as a leader on Internet and high-tech issues. He is Co-Chair of the Congressional Internet Caucus and the International Creativity and Theft-Prevention Caucus as well as Chairman of the House Republican Technology Working Group.

“What an honor it is to participate with Chairman Goodlatte in an open and engaging discussion on the next-generation threats and the organizations that are carrying out the sophisticated threats that have a direct impact on our economy. Chairman Goodlatte has been a vocal supporter of Internet and technology issues for many years and I’m looking forward to sharing my vision and ideas with him and the ‘State of the Net’ audience,” said Div.

“I am once again pleased to be participating in the annual State of the Net Conference. This important event brings together industry and government leaders to discuss the pressing issues that impact the Internet and its users. This year I look forward to joining Lior Div of Cybereason to discuss emerging cyber threats which present growing challenges for consumers, businesses, and government alike,” said Chairman Goodlatte.
