Cybereason’s CISO Israel Barak to Moderate Panel on Ransomware at Xconomy Forum

Cybereason, developers of the world’s only military-grade, real-time detection and response platform, announced that Israel Barak, the company’s CISO, will moderate a panel today at the Xconomy Forum: State of Cybersecurity, taking place from 1:30-5:30 p.m. at WGBH, 1 Guest Street, Boston.

“Cybersecurity has become one of the most urgent topics we're covering. We're really excited to convene the top leaders in security today to discuss issues ranging from ransomware, to the cyber-talent gap, to national security,” said Greg Huang, deputy editor of Xconomy, a national media company focused on technology and business innovation.

About the Panel: Titled ‘Ransomware & Other Threats’ the panel will take place between 2:00-2:30 p.m. The panelists will dive into a discussion on what ransomware is, what is the risk today to companies and organizations, whom are the actors behind ransomware attacks and what is the best preventative medicine against ransomware attacks.

About the Moderator: Israel Barak, CISO, Cybereason 
Israel Barak is a cyber defense and warfare expert, with his extensive background established at the Israeli Defense Forces and the Government of Israel. As Cybereason’s CISO, Israel is at the forefront of the company’s security innovation, as well as research and analysis of current and evolving advanced threats. Barak founded and headed the Israeli Defense Forces red team unit, as well as established and operated various cyber warfare teams. Israel Barak spent years training, guiding and professionally mentoring new personnel, providing in-depth cyber expertise as it relates to cyber warfare, cyber security, and threat actor’s tactics and procedures.

Christopher Ahlberg, Co-Founder & CEO, Recorded Future 
Dr. Christopher Ahlberg is the CEO and Co-Founder of Recorded Future, Inc., which he has led to become the premier cyber threat intelligence company. He previously was the CEO and Co-Founder of Spotfire, Inc. which was sold to TIBCO in 2007.

Mohamad Ali, CEO, Carbonite 
Under Mohamad’s leadership Carbonite’s global team is fully engaged in developing and delivering the next generation of data protection solutions for small and midsized businesses. He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer at Hewlett Packard. While at IBM, he led the creation of the firm’s $8 billion analytics software unit.

Chris Wysopal, Co-Founder & CTO, Veracode 
Chris Wysopal is Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer at Veracode. He co-founded Veracode in 2006 with the vision of a platform for developers to secure the software that powers the world. Prior to Veracode, Chris was vice president of research and development at security consultancy @stake, which was acquired by Symantec.
