Cybereason Launches Advanced Ransomware Protection

Written by Cyber Admin | June 15, 2016

Cybereason today announced several critical additions to its military-grade, real-time detection and response platform, including the launch of the industry’s most advanced ransomware detection and blocking capabilities. In addition, the company introduced Attack Blocker, a new capability that shuts down threats on the endpoint in real time by blocking process execution and preventing network communication. The company also launched today its Linux Server Sensor and presented its Active Monitoring Service.

“What sets Cybereason apart from other endpoint software companies from my vantage point is their ability to rapidly detect complex cyber attacks that evade today's traditional defenses from anywhere in the world,” said Richard Rushing, CISO, Motorola Mobility. "No other company today has the ability leverage big data, behavioral analytics and machine learning and turn that into a solution that is solving the cyber-security problem for Fortune 500 companies.”

“Cybereason continues to outsmart advanced hacking operations, being the first to introduce advanced ransomware blocking, targeting both known and unknown attacks,” said Yonatan Striem-Amit, CTO and co-founder of Cybereason. “With more enterprises being infected by ransomware, the ability to spot it in real time and immediately block it is critical for preventing damage.”

New capabilities include:

Ransomware Detection and Blocking
The Cybereason Platform defeats known and previously unseen ransomware. Using artificial intelligence, machine learning, behavioral techniques and threat intelligence, Cybereason pinpoints, classifies and blocks ransomware.

Attack Blocker
Stops threats from damaging enterprises by automatically blocking processes that exhibit malicious behavior.

Active Monitoring Service
Cybereason has used its unique connections in the security world to assemble a group of the best trained experts. Combined with the company’s military-grade threat hunting technology platform, Cybereason will monitor and analyze malicious activity and eliminate detected threats in real time.

Linux Server Sensor
The new Linux Server Sensor provides expanded visibility into enterprises full server environment by adding the ability to detect and respond to malicious activities on compromised Linux servers. This new sensor complements existing sensors for Windows servers and endpoints, as well as Mac OS X deployments.

Striem-Amit added, “In addition, we are launching today our Active Monitoring Service, providing our customers with military-grade expertise to uncover sophisticated threats and eliminate them.”

Cybereason has a proven track record of protecting Fortune 500 enterprises globally. The company has received many awards and accolades since it launched its detection and response platform in 2014. Most recently, SC Magazine named Cybereason ‘Rookie Security Company of the Year.’ In addition, Infosecurity Products Guide named CEO Lior Div ‘2016 CEO of the Year’ while Computer Reseller News named Cybereason’s Detection and Response Platform one of 30 cool products launched at the 2016 RSA Conference. And Dark Reading named the company one of the ‘20 Cyber Security Startups to Watch in 2016.’
