Cybereason Announces Record Growth in 2017

Cybereason today announced a record-breaking 2017 in revenue growth, new customers, new hires and product platform innovation. 2017 was a year that saw Cybereason further its mission to protect people and information in the open and connected digital world.

The company’s most notable 2017 milestones include:

Triple Digit Revenue Growth: Cybereason more than doubled its year-over-year global revenue in 2017, growing by 140 percent.

Exponential Customer Growth: Cybereason increased its customer base by more than 200 percent in 2017, acquiring new customers in many industries, including financial services, retail, energy, healthcare, higher education and pharmaceutical.

Product Innovation: Cybereason launched the newest version of its award-winning Enterprise Attack Prevention Platform to include next-generation antivirus functionality. In addition, Cybereason introduced the industry’s first and only solution to proactively prevent PowerShell attacks using behavioral analysis.

Extensive International Growth in APAC Region: Cybereason’s growth across the APAC region grew by more than 600 percent and the company has the region’s largest market share for both the endpoint detection and response and endpoint protection platform categories. It continues to strengthen an already strong relationship with its customer and investor, Softbank. Cybereason also opened its newest office in Sydney.

Expanding Employee Base: Cybereason hired more than 200 new employees in 2017 and now employs a worldwide workforce of more than 350.

$100M Series D Round: In June of 2017, Cybereason announced $100M in funding from Softbank - a customer turned investor - bringing its total funding to $189 million.

Channel Program Launch: In the six months following the launch of its Global Partner Program in June 2017, the company signed more than 120 new partners.

Ground-breaking Research and Discoveries: Cybereason Principal Security Researcher Amit Serper discovered vaccinations for Bad Rabbit (October 2017) and NotPetya (June 2017) and was the first person in the world to discover a way to stop the ransomware strains, earning global coverage on CNN and dozens of other media outlets.

RansomFree Anniversary: Cybereason celebrated the one-year anniversary of its free anti-ransomware tool RansomFree in December 2017; today nearly 600,000 small businesses and consumers use the tool.

Malicious Life Podcast: Cybereason’s popular podcast ‘Malicious Life’ surpassed 100,000 downloads and spent many weeks in 2017 as one of the 20 most popular iTunes podcasts. The podcast is about crimes and conflicts that have shifted from banks and battlefields to digital wars where billions of devices possess processing power are connected to the Internet.
